Radish Learning Ltd (“Radish”, “we”, “us”) operates Radish Learning, a digital literacy course for children aged 11–14 accessed at radishlearning.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We are committed to the principles of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
If you have any questions, please contact us at kate@radishlearning.com.
1. What data we collect
Parent account data
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store your password in plain text. We also record the date and time you accepted our Terms of Service.
Child data
During onboarding, we ask for your child’s first name. We use this solely to personalise the learning experience (for example, SkillzBot addressing your child by name). We do not ask for your child’s surname, date of birth, school, or any other identifying information.
Learning progress
We record which lessons and quizzes your child has completed, and quiz scores, so that you can track their progress in the parent view. We also store any private messages your child chooses to send you from within the app.
Feedback
If you choose to send us feedback through the app, we collect the content of that feedback and your email address so that we can respond.
Technical data
Our hosting provider (Vercel) and authentication provider (Supabase) may collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser information. We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics.
2. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account
- To deliver the Radish Learning course to your child
- To show you your child’s progress in the parent view
- To contact you about your experience of Radish Learning (as described in our Terms of Service and agreed to at signup)
- To respond to feedback or support requests you send us
- To maintain the security and reliability of the service
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any party except as described in section 4 below.
3. Our lawful basis for processing
We process your account data on the basis of contract— it is necessary to provide the service you have signed up to. We process feedback contact on the basis of legitimate interest, as described in our Terms of Service and agreed to at signup. You may opt out of feedback contact at any time by emailing kate@radishlearning.com.
4. Who we share data with
We use the following third-party services to operate Radish Learning:
- Supabase— database and authentication provider. Your account data and learning progress are stored on Supabase servers (hosted in the EU).
- Vercel— hosting and serverless functions.
- Resend— transactional email (used for account confirmation and to forward feedback to us).
Each of these providers processes data only as instructed by us and in accordance with their own data processing agreements.
5. Cookies
Radish Learning uses one type of cookie: a session cookie set by Supabase to keep you logged in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to work and does not require your consent. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.
6. Children’s data
Radish Learning is designed for children aged 11–14. The parent or guardian creates the account and is responsible for the account. A child uses the service under their parent’s account. We collect only the minimum data necessary (first name and learning progress) and use it solely to personalise the learning experience for that child.
We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts, and we do not collect email addresses or contact details from children.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you would like us to delete your account and all associated data, please email kate@radishlearning.com and we will action this within 30 days.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Erase your data (the right to be forgotten)
- Restrict or object to our processing of your data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email kate@radishlearning.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
